Became known during the audition as the "AKB-wota". Ikuta Erina was selected from Morning Musume's 9th Generation audition to join the group on January 02, 2011, along with Sayashi Riho, Suzuki Kanon, and former Hello Pro Egg Fukumura Mizuki.

The ninth generation made their official presentation on the same day they were announced as new members in Hello! Project 2011 WINTER ~Kangei Shinsen Matsuri~ concert, and they participated in the songs: "Aozora ga Itsumademo Tsuzuku You na Mirai de Are!" and "Tomo".

The show is an hour long broadcast which began on April 13th 2011. It broadcasts every Wednesday at 20:00 JST. The show revolves around the host Niigaki conversing with the new members of the group as well as reading out comments and question posed by the live watching audience. Guest appearances are also made by members of S/mileage.

The show is also used as a promotional platform for both Morning Musume and S/mileage in regards to CD releases, concerts, and other activities.

JapanFiles: TAIA's JapanFiles: TAIA's logo says quite clearly that you're from Okinawa, so obviously you're proud of that association. How does Okinawa affect your music?YASHA (bass): Since we're comfortable in this place, it's a great environment for us. We can be our natural selves while we work on our music.

SEIKA (vocals): TAKA and I weren't born in Okinawa, but we're strongly influenced by Okinawa's rich nature and calm climate.

FUGA (keyboard): Our music, even down to the instruments and editing we use, are mainly based on Western music. But I think Okinawa influences us unconsciously during the creative stage, like composing or imagining the lyrics. I can't say whether it's the local folks or the history or customs, but I'm happy if you feel something from Okinawa in our music.

JapanFiles: TAIA's music contains some very precise composition. Who is the main composer for the group? How much of the final song is written before rehearsals, and what usually changes when the whole band gets involved?FUGA: The main composer is the guitarist, TAKA. There are times when the guitarist (URA) and I will compose, too. It depends on the composer how much of the final song is written before rehearsals.

TAKA (left-side guitar): Right. When I'm composing, I just have the guitar riffs and I make a report like "I made a song like this," at the first rehearsal. Then each member adds things they want. I bring the idea, and the band completes the song.

FUGA: If TAKA is composing, almost all of guitar riffs are complete, but for other parts, we each add arrangements in the studio as we listen to TAKA's directions. Sometimes, the early structure of a song can change a lot if we feel it going in a different direction. For me, when I'm composing, it's a bit different. I add all the arrangements and complete most of the song before we go into a rehearsal. We'll work on the details for all the members in the studio, but the main structure of the song doesn't change that often.

History

The band was formed in 1998, by college classmates; Taka, Yasha and Hakua, as an Iron Maiden cover band. Seika soon joined and they felt having a female vocalist would make their music more interesting.

In 2000, Taia released a self titled demo and the following year a second, entitled "Sanctus". The group eventually found its current sound with the arrival of a keyboardist.

In 2002, Taia won a prize with their song "Beware". In the same year Fuuga replaced the old keyboardist, and the band released their first single "Sorrow".

In 2004 they released their second single, "Yumegatari". That same year, Taia went on their first tour in Tohoku, while Higa joined as second guitarist.

In February 2005, the band appeared on the Trendkill2005 compilation, and later in May on Total Steel Okinawa 2005. By the end of the year, on the 16th of November they released their first album, Asymmetry, which was followed by a tour in Okinawa, Tokyo and Osaka.

Drummer Hakua was replaced by Ara in 2006. On July 19 they released the EP Prayer, which was accompanied with a DVD.

In February and March 2007, the music videos for "Praise" and "Fuumai" were released, followed by their third album Seeds of Rain, on March 14. Soon after Taia began another tour.

On September 9, 2009 they released their third album Through Your Tears in two versions; Japanese and English.

Early life

Park Bom one of my new favs was born in Seoul, South Korea. I have not heard her much before but listhening to her song, "You And I" I quickly changed my mind.   In 6th grade, she went to the United States to study abroad. She graduated high school from Gould Academy in Bethel, ME and enrolled into Lesley University with a major in psychology. As a high school student, she fell in love with music through Mariah Carey. She wanted to pursue it as a career but she did not obtain permission from her parents. However, with encouragement from her aunt, she transferred to Berklee College of Music to pursue her music career.

Park Bom - YOU AND I

2009–present: Debut with 2NE1 and solo projects

In early 2009, Yang Hyun Suk, CEO of YG Entertainment, announced a new four-member girl group that would star Park Bom. The group's name was later announced as 2NE1, a quartet. On March 28, 2009, the group was first shown through "Lollipop", their collaboration song with Big Bang. It was unknown whether the group could survive on its own, but they reached number one on the Gaon Chart with their debut single, "Fire". Their follow-up promotional single "I Don't Care" did the same, and helped launch the debut extended play 2NE1 to number one.

2NE1

In August, after finishing "I Don't Care" promotions, the group took a temporary hiatus with each member releasing their own solo singles. Park's single, entitled "You and I", was the best performing of the three and took the number one spot on the Gaon Chart for the month of November. In February, the group released a surprise single "Follow Me" that took number one for the week of February 13. They came back on September 9 and released three lead singles for their newly released album, To Anyone. The album went on to sell over 120,000 copies. At the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards, Park's song, "You and I", won the award for best digital single.

In 2011, it was announced that Park would have a new digital single released before 2NE1 promotions for a new mini-album. The song was titled "Don't Cry" and was released on April 21, 2011. "Don't Cry" managed to top many of South Korea's music content providers' digital charts.

Origianlly a unit created out of rom the Hello! Projects Egg:

S/mileage was born with a 4 member jpop group out of Japan and has grown into being one of the hot girl groups out there.   Wada Ayaka, Maeda Yuuka, Fukuda Kanon, and Ogawa Saki graduated out of Hello Project Egg and I guess if you want to say was promoted to becoming a new group for the what I like to call the, "Hello! Project Empire". 

After a test or I guess challenge by the owner of H!P Tsunku which they had to succeeed in Tsunku said he would sign them up.  On November 23, 2009, during Hello! Pro Egg's Shinjin Kouen concert, a video message from Tsunku was played to S/mileage, where it was announced that they would graduate from Hello! Pro Egg and make their debut in Hello! Project in 2010. Initially when the group was first formed, Tsunku had said that in order to make the best group possible, additional members might be added or current members might be removed. Wada, Maeda, Fukuda, and Ogawa were confirmed to be the definite line-up of S/mileage. They graduated from Hello! Pro Egg on March 27, 2010.

In February, Tsunku announced S/mileage's challenge for their major debut. By the end of March, they were to collect 10,000 photos of people's smiles and assemble them on a 2 x 4 meter poster board. Anyone could send in photos through the official website. In April, the announcement was made that the goal was achieved and S/mileage made their major debut in May.

After winning the Grand Prize for Best New Artist at the 2010 Japan Record Awards, Hello! Project group S/mileage starts off their 2011 with their fourth major single Short Cut. Produced with a familiar 90s pop sound, the upbeat dance tune and the B-side track Panya-san no Arubaito emphasize the healthy youthful image of the four girls.

AM, an “animation, music and manga” convention based in Southern California, recently announced two more bands as guests of honor: female pop-rock band SCANDAL and visual-kei band Sadie. Details about their performances have not yet been released.

The convention has already announced several other guests, including heidi. and Wakeshima Kanon.

SCANDAL formed in 2006 and made their indies debut in 2008. That same year, they toured the U.S. as part of the SXSW Japan Nite tour, and they also made a stop at the Sakura-Con convention in Seattle. They also performed at conventions in France and Hong Kong that summer, before they made their major label debut a couple months later. Their connections to anime include songs used in “Bleach” and “Fullmetal Alchemist.”

Sadie have been around since 2005 and have released a dozen singles and multiple albums, but this will be their first concert outside of Japan.

AM takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center on July 1-3, the same weekend as Anime Expo. More details about AM can be found on the convention’s website.

         Kara (카라) is no doubt one of the most beautiful and tallented groups out of South Korea. Kara meaning, "joy" is a five member k-pop group under the company DSP Media. In 2007 Kara instantly became a hit with there debut album The First Blooming.  Since then Kara has won countless number of awards such the Best Dance Award at the M.net Asian Music Awards and Best Female Singer at the 16th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards.    Kara started with a four member group Kim Sung, Park Gyuri, Han Seung-yeon and Han Seun-yeon however Han Seun-yeon left the group due to family pressure and was replaced with Goo Hara and Kang Jiyoung.  In 2008 they added to there trophy collection with Kim Sunghincluding the Best Dance Award at the M.net Asian Music Awards and Best Female Singer at the 16th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards. Kara achieved their first number one song with "Honey". Other singles include "Pretty Girl", "Wanna", "Mister", and "Lupin."

       In 2009 Kara decided to expand there market to other various asian countries. And gained great success in Japan winning Japan's #1 Rookie Artist for 2010.  The group has released two full-length albums — The First Blooming and Revolution — along with various EPs. Kara has won various awards,  Kara have also gotten recognition after debuting in Japan, and have been dubbed Japan's #1 Rookie Artist for 2010.

Dubbed the next Fin.K.L., Kara presents their debut album, The First Blooming. The teenaged quartet from DSP Entertainment consists of leader Park Gyu Ri, Jung Nicole, Han Seung Yeon, and Kim Sung Hee. K-pop pretty girls Kara launch their second Revolution of 2009! Kara got a big break after releasing their hit 2008 winter mini-album Pretty Girl, and they finally reached #1 for the first time this year with their single Honey. Now in the top tier of Korea's girl groups, Kara are releasing their highly anticipated second full-length album, and they're going for a more mature image and musical style this time.
